A single result with one wavelength may say your answer is 0.5 ppb, but how do you know that this a meaningful or correct value? For years analysts have made ICP analyses with one wavelength and had no means of validating the answer. In recent years, solid state detectors have made the possibility of using multiple lines for the determination to validate a result and insure that interferences were not present. The problem has been until the ACTIVA-M ICP System with its unique software tools,there have been no simple ways to select appropriate wavelengths for multi-line analysis without running numerous samples and line profiles, as well as no automatic way to provide a final reliable concentration per element.
