General Tools & Instruments MSHA-Approved Combustible Gas Leak Detector

Detect combustible gas leaks around pipes, tanks, regulators, and more. Approved by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), the detector is rated intrinsically safe for methane-air atmospheres. Unique digital leak size indicator displays a number from 0 to 9 that reflects the concentration of combustible gas sensed. The maximum value is displayed when the tip of the probe is at the source of the leak. Also features an audible beep that increases in frequency as the concentration of gas increases; beep can be silenced with the push of a button.

Verify the unit is functioning properly with the leak test vial by simply removing the cap from the vial and placing the tip of the probe close to the top of the vial. The beep rate should increase and the digital leak size indicator should display a number between 4 and 6. Sensor replacement is easy — simply unscrew the metal cover, pull out the old sensor, and install the new one.
