Graphene-basedCr2O3compositesarepreparedandexhibitbetterelectrochemicalpropertiesthanfreeCr2O3particleswithoutthegraphene.ThesynthesisprocedureconsistsofthedirectgrowthofCrOOHonthesurfaceofgrapheneandthesubsequentthermaldecompositionofCrOOHtoCr2O3.Moreover,theelectrochemicalpropertiesofgraphene-basedCr2O3arefurtherimprovedthroughcarboncoating,andtwostrategiesaredeveloped.Interestingly,thecarbonlayerspyrolyzedfromglucoseonCrOOHcanseparatetheparticlesonthegrapheneandlimittheirgrowth,whilethoseonCr2O3merelycovertheparticlesandcannotpreventparticleaggregation.Consequently,comparedtothelattercarbon-coatedcomposite,theformershowsfurtherimprovedelectrochemicalbehavior.
