Function:IL-8isachemotacticfactorthatattractsneutrophils,basophils,andT-cells,butnotmonocytes.Itisalsoinvolvedinneutrophilactivation.Itisreleasedfromseveralcelltypesinresponsetoaninflammatorystimulus.IL-8（6-77）hasa5-10-foldhigheractivityonneutrophilactivation,IL-8（5-77）hasincreasedactivityonneutrophilactivationandIL-8（7-77）hasahigheraffinitytoreceptorsCXCR1andCXCR2ascomparedtoIL-8（1-77）,respectively.
