PreparationandcharacterizationofnovelCe-dopednonstoichiometricnanosilica/polysulfonecompositemembranesYuqingZhang,LiboShan,ZhengyuTu,YahuiZhangPolysulfone(PSF)isakindofmembranematerialwithbetterperformanceandbroadlyappliedinwaterpurification,biochemistryseparation,Chinesetraditionalherbdrugsextractionandconcentration,etc.ButPSFmembranehasatendencytobecontaminatedforitshydrophobicity,whichcanresultindecliningoffluxandlifeofthemembrane.ToenhancethecapabilityofPSFmembrane,suchastensilestrength,hydrophilicproperty,anti-fou领ability,novelorganicinorganiccompositemembraneswerepreparedbyaprocessofaddingmodifiednanosilicawithhigheractivityandhydrophilicpropertytotheporousmatrixofPSF.Ce-dopednonstoichiometricnanosilica(modifiednanosilica)wassynthesizedbydopingtherareearthCeelement.Compositemembraneswerepreparedbysolgelprocessandcharacterizedbytestoftensilestrength,contactangel,porosity,infraredspectroscope(IR),environmentscanningelectronmicroscope(ESEM)andperformanceforoilwaterseparation.Theresultsshowthattensilestrengthisimprovedtoalargeextentandcontactangelreducesfrom78.6to41.7;porosityreaches75%.IRspectrumofthecompositemembraneindicatesthattheceriumelementhasenteredintotheframeworkofnanosilica.ESEMmicrographsindicatethatthecompositemembraneowningtheasymmetrystructurehastwolayersofcompactlayerandporouslayerandthatmodifiednanosilicaisuniformlydispersedinPSF.Thefluxintreatmentofwastewatercontainingoilisgreatlyincreased,soitindicatesthattheantifou领abilityissignificantlyenhancedandtreatmentofwastewatercontainingoilusingthecompositemembranedevelopedisfeasibleanddesirable.

- FabricationandcharacterizationofhydrophobicPVDFhollowfibermembranesfordesalinationthroughdirectcontactmembranedistillationDeyinHou,JunWang,DanQu,ZhaokunLuan,Xiao极ngRenThemixtureofinorganicsaltLiClandsolublepolymerpolyethyleneglycol(PEG)1500asnon-solventadditivewasintroducedtofabricatehydrophobichollowfibermembraneofpolyvinylidenefluoride(PVDF)byphaseinversionprocess,usingN,N-dimethylacetamide(DMAc)assolventandtapwaterasthecoagulationmedium.ComparedwithotherthreemembranesfromPVDF/DMAc,PVDF/DMAc/LiClandPVDF/DMAc/PEG1500dopesolution,itcanbeobservedobviouslybyscanningelectronmicroscope(SEM)thatthemembranespunfromPVDF/DMAc/LiCl/PEG1500dopehadlongerfinger-likecavities,ultra-thinskins,narrowporesizedistributionandporousnetworksponge-likestructureowingtothesynergisticeffectofLiClandPEG1500.Besides,themembranealsoexhibitedhighporosityandgoodhydrophobicity.Duringthedesalinationprocessof3.5wt%sodiumchloridesolutionthroughdirectcontactmembranedistillation(DCMD),thepermeatefluxachieved40.5kg/m2handtherejectionofNaClmaintained99.99%withthefeedsolutionat81.8Candthecolddistillatewaterat20.0C,thisperformanceiscomparableorevenhigherthanmostofthepreviousreports.Furthermore,a200hcontinuouslydesalinationexperimentshowedthatthemembranehadstablepermeatefluxandsoluterejection,indicatingthattheas-spunPVDFhollowfibermembranemaybeofgreatpotentialtobeutilizedintheDCMDprocess.[详细]
