Laser interferometry has been generally accepted as a precision
tool to obtain the velocity-versus-time profile of the
moving surfaces of impact specimens. But most traditional
laser interferometers require a source of long coherence
length and high power to measure the low-velocity profile for
impact specimens w1x, so it is not easy for these systems to
measure it. Through theory analysis, which is first presented
in the velocity interferometer system, a novel fiber-optic
velocity interferometer for any reflector has been constructed
successfully. Using it, the shocking velocity measures are
accomplished for a Hopkinson bar under uniaxial stress loading.
The results are in perfect agreement with the impedance
match calculation. 全光纤多功能研发平台
