Effect of boronising on adhesive wear

Trtanium and its alloys are widely used in the aeronautical and chemica industries. This paper reports on an experimental investigation into the effect of boronising on wear behaviour in dry sliding. Boronising eliminates running-in wear, reduces oxidative (mild) wear, and increase the load at which transition to metallic (severe) wear occurs.
